August 2013: From the Editor

New website for Eugene Chapter!

We have some exciting news!  We are pleased to announce the new website of Eugene Chapter, Weston A. Price Foundation is now officially launched! It has been a long time coming.  I have been working on it for over a year, and finally decided to take the plunge and go ahead and unveil it.  It is not as perfect as I would like, and I will probably always be tweaking it, but I think it is ready for you all to see and use.

Our new website is: eugenewestonaprice.org

The Newsletter is fully integrated into the website.  I have moved all of the post from our old newsletter location, and added much more new material.  You can now find topics such as: Find Nutrient Dense Foods, What is a Weston Price Diet?, information on Pastured Eggs, Grass-Fed Meat, Pastured Poultry, Grains, Nuts, Seeds & Legumes, Raw Milk, Vegetables & Fruits, Fermented Foods, Fats & Oils, Recommended Reading, finding local health Practitioners, information about all our local Events, and much more!

Newsletter Intended to Get People Together:

It is intended to be a resource for local people who are searching for more information about the principles of traditional diets and the work of the Weston A. Price Foundation.  As always we aim to get people together in real life, with Classes, DVD showings, Potlucks and more!

Email List Management:

I have also switched over the email list to an automatic service.  Everyone on our existing list has already been transferred to the the new system.  You do not need to do anything extra to stay on the list!  New people can now subscribe (and unsubscribe) from the newsletter list instantly!  This system will also make sending out announcements easier, and allow me to clean the email list of addresses that are bouncing.  This should make things much better for everyone.

New Email Address:

And speaking of email, I have a new email address associated with the webpage.  Please use the Contact Us page.  All future newsletters and reminders will come from this address.  I will be reserving the one at krautpounder.com for Kraut Pounder business.  Thanks!

Kraut Pounder website:

I have separated the functions of krautpounder.com and the Eugene Chapter website.  Krautpounder.com has been freshly updated and will remain the place to go for purchasing Kraut Pounders.  The Kraut Pounder is an original creation of the Eugene Chapter, Weston A. Price Foundation.  Sales of Kraut Pounders allow us to purchase DVDs, pay for hosting these websites, send a representative to the annual Wise Traditions Conference and much more.

Check out both websites!

The Weston A. Price Foundation regional conference is quickly approaching.  If you want to go, but haven’t registered yet, I recommend you do it this month.  Several of us from the Eugene Chapter will be going up to Portland for the conference.  If you would like to share rides and/or share rooms, please either contact us, or use WAPFEugene to connect with other local members.

Fermentation Presentation:

In lieu of our regular DVD showing, this month I will be presenting a PowerPoint presentation on Fermentation.  This will take place at our regular time and location at the Market of Choice.
