Local Beef Available – Long Haul Timber & Cattle

“Belted Galloway beef for sale. We currently have a butcher date for end of August for (1) steer. Selling half or quarter beef at $4/lb hanging weight. The following butcher date for (2) beeves will be some time in early-mid October. If interested in coordinating for purchase please contact us at 541-762-1254 and ask for Eric or Kelly. We also have ground beef available from an early summer butcher at Mohawk Meats; a USDA certified butchery that packaged the beef in see-through vacuum sealed bags. Hamburger is 90% lean and portioned by the pound which is priced at $7/lb. When purchased by the case (36lb) we apply a 5% discount.

Our beef is free from hormones, antibiotics, and our pastures from commercial fertilizers or chemical sprays. We raise Belted Galloway cattle (the “lighter on the land” Oreo cookie cow) on 40 hillside acres overlooking Fern Ridge Reservoir. Belties are renowned for their tenderness, flavorfulness, and modest sized cuts, and ours have the added benefit of being all natural beef free from any growth hormones or antibiotics.

Our registered heritage cattle breed, after 15 years as a closed herd are almost native Oregonian’s and they are always grass fed and grass finished, with NO grain or corn ever, just the way nature intended. Our pastures only receive organic fertilizers to complement our cattle salad bar of grasses, clovers, and plantains.

Moving forward we will also be sending email updates for any butcher dates to come in 2023. If you are interested in joining a mailing list, you can contact us at 541-762-1254 and let us know what you would be interested in.”

Biodynamic/organic raw milk available

I just got an email from a local farm letting us know that they have milk available.

Our Jersey cow just freshened and we have space in our milk rotation for folks wanting weekly milk. Our cows are grass fed on our pastures and fed hay from our own place in winter along with mangels, turnips and squash we grow for them.

We are looking for residents of River Rd and Santa Clara or folks who make a weekly trip to this area already. Please call if interested and we’ll arrange a visit to our farm in Santa Clara.

Small is Beautiful

There are also other farms that sell milk in the area, if you would like more information see: Raw Milk or Contact Us.
