From the Editor: August 2015

Hi all,

I know I’ve been falling behind again on posting the newsletter info, and I can’t promise to do better anytime soon.  We do have events coming up so keep checking the newsletter homepage on the website for the latest news.

First of all I want to let you know about the upcoming Weston A. Price conference!  The 16th annual Wise Traditions conference is in California this year.  The topic is Focus on Fats.  Sounds wonderful!

Wise Traditions 16th Annual Conference

Anaheim November 13-16

The most important step you can take if you are aiming to improve your diet and your health is to “get your fats right!”  Unfortunately, the media abounds in misinformation about which fats are healthy. In spite of what you may have heard, the healthiest fats are saturated animal fats!  This conference will help you understand why butter, lard, egg yolks, cream and meat fats need a prominent place in your diet. – Sally Fallon Morell

Each year the Conference is held in a different US city.  If you’ve never been to a Wise Traditions Conference you deserve to treat yourself to this wonderful opportunity while it is held on the West Coast!

Eugene Chapter, WAPF – August Events

And now on to our Eugene events for this month!

(Note change from earlier announcement: Wayne Morse was taken)

Our potluck this month will be held at Hendricks Park in SE Eugene.  – enjoy Eugene summer outdoors while we can! I’ll be demonstrating how to make fermented pickles.

Joann Grohman promises to “demolish the currently fashionable notion that cows produce more CO2 than automobiles” and “explore the role of raw milk and colostrum in the prevention or relief of many conditions including skin disorders, obesity, C. difficile, arthritis, and the common cold” and much more!
