The one-day conference is about practical actions people can take in their own lives, homes, neighborhoods and community to live more local and green. Its really exciting to see the wonderful projects and initiatives we have in Eugene for going local and green and we want to draw on that deep and diverse experience.

We anticipate a plenary session, break out groups with panels, speakers and presentation on a range of topics that are action oriented. Real experience to share for moving forward, whether one is new to all this or one is already making big changes. The ELG Community Conference is for people new to these ideas and its also for people who are already making big changes to the way they live. The conference has much to offer he entire community.

Topics we will touch on include local food security, green lifestyles, neighborhoods, changes in urban land use, community collaborations, permaculture, chickens, how to start a neighborhood garden, cooperative living and much more. We plan to emphasize positive opportunities and the many existing tools and assets we have available.

There will be time to mix and mingle, network and check out the many groups with table information.
