Below are our events for May and some upcoming events this Summer.  I am sorry about the short notice for the Potluck, Natural Grocers didn’t confirm that we had the room for our potluck until last week, and this was the soonest I could get the newsletter together.  If you’d like to help with the newsletter, just let me know.  I could use an assistant.


 

May 8: Potluck & Farm Presentation

Farm Presentation:

Helios Farms’ Theodore and Kira Wadman will be speaking will be speaking about what motivated them to start a raw milk dairy, raising pastured chickens and pork, and the importance of growing our farming community. They will also bring samples from he farm to share!

May 25: DVD – The Story of Northstar Bison

I attended this talk in person at the last Wise Traditions Conference, and have to say I found it very moving and inspiring.  The family-owned and operated Northstar is raising bison for meat to restore bison to the prairie.  They showed a movie with beautiful images of their bison, and their high commitment to the ethical treatment of the animals and the land.

June 7: GAPS Support Group

The GAPS & Medical Diet Support Group will now be held at a new location.

Thursday June 7, 2018 7pm

NEW ADDRESS:

777 High Street, Suite 240
Eugene, Oregon

The lobby doors lock at 7pm, so do please be on time or come early.  Read more about GAPS: eugenewestonaprice.org/gaps

Meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 7:00 pm


Upcoming Events:

  • June 8th: Potluck
  • June 22nd: DVD – Our Seniors: Dumping Grounds for Drugs
  • July 27th: DVD – “GAPS” – Vegetarianism Explained
  • Aug 24th: DVD – Redefining Children’s Health in 21st Century

(We have requested these dates with Natural Grocers)

Would anyone like to have an outdoor picnic in July or August?  Let me know.


Volunteers Appreciated

If you’d like to help your local Eugene Chapter, WAPF,

A few specific tasks that are still under-supported are:

  • Backup Newsletter Editor (who can make sure things go out in a timely manner when I am not able to)
  • Host a food workshop at your home
  • Carry materials to and from events
  • Help with set up and clean up at events
  • Make sure we have a meat dish at each potluck
  • Post fliers around town to promote our events

If you would like more information, just let me know. I would be happy to meet with any potential volunteers to discuss what you have to offer and how we can use your skills and energy.
