If the state makes the upper daily limit for Californians low to no exposure for glyphosate, then the big food manufacturing companies – think General Mills – will not want to put warning labels on their glyphosate-containing products and instead, will opt to simply remove glyphosate-containing ingredients. Farmers will follow suit and stop growing it.

JOANIE’S COMMENTS

I spent yesterday afternoon in Sacramento at the CA EPA’s hearing for comments from the public on safe levels of glyphosate. As of last year CA upgraded glyphosate to “probable carcinogen” requiring a warning label. I believe CA was the first state to do that.

The purpose of hearing the public yesterday was to help determine the CA definition of the maximum safe level of glyphosate exposure on a daily basis.

Well, we know what that is – as a neurotoxin found in our tap water, children’s urine, mother’s breast milk and childhood vaccines which has been shown to bio-accumulate and to increase the growth of breast cancer cells in the PARTS PER TRILLION, it’s NONE. In other words, we must demand that glyphosate be banned.

But the scientists at the CA EPA are suggesting a ridiculously high amount when you consider the reality of real life exposure – 1100mcg.

To give you an example for comparison, a single oatmeal cookie from the CA State Capitol building’s Cafe tested in 2016 for glyphosate, contained 311mcg. And all of these EPA suggested weight standards apply only to full grown adults, not babies or  children.

My guess is there were about 50-60 people in attendance at the hearing, the majority of whom were there as a result of the organizing done by the Los Angeles area-based Zen Honeycutt of Moms Across America. 4-5 staff, scientists and farmer/ranchers spoke in favor of glyphosate, the rest asked for a ban.

I had the fabulous honor of meeting Dr. Anthony Samsel, Dr. Stephanie Seneff’s colleague. He came all the way across the country from Massachusetts just to give his 5 minutes in front of the CA EPA committee. He said he not only has 6 published peer-reviewed papers on the dangers of glyphosate, but in addition two more are coming out soon which he promised will be even more revealing than anything else he has published so.

Dr. Samsel explained to me that his research shows that glyphosate is an enzyme disruptor. We’ve known for years that it interferes with the shikimate pathway which is how it destroys bacteria in our gut, creates a pathological overgrowth and impairs the immune system located there.

However, his newest research shows that in fact glyphosate interferes with ALL ENZYMES in the body and, in particular, glyphosate makes it hard or impossible for the body to access glycine. Glycine, as we know, is an amino acid particularly known for healing for the lining of the intestines and Leaky Gut, and is found abundantly in bone broth. 

If Dr. Samsel is correct, it means that as long as glyphosate is present in the body – which testing shows that NO ONE these days is glyphosate-free – then we will not be able to sufficiently utilize these healing amino acids in this sacred food.

It’s no longer just our children’s lives. It’s our children’s children’s lives that are at stake. Research has shown that there are chemicals we apply to our food and environment that cause genetic damage and the DISEASE CONDITION shows up in the THIRD GENERATION, even if those children have had no exposure to the chemical. No comprehensive, long term, independent study has ever been done that shows real life exposure level for glyphosate.
