November 20: Potluck and Sweets Demo

Wednesday, Nov 20, 2013
6:00 to 8:00 PM

Location:
At the home of Jan
1389 Washington St, Eugene
yellow house, east side of Washington
(access 13th, 15th, 18th)

Topic & Demo:
Our topic for this month is Natural Sweeteners. Since we are now in the midst of the “season of sugar” (from Halloween through Valentine’s Day!) it seems like a good time to discuss natural sweeteners.  The Weston Price diet is not one of deprivation, but quality does count.  How can you enjoy natural sweetness without the awful refined sweeteners, artificial colors and flavors that they put into commercial sweets?  Make your own or know how to find quality sweets.  Discussion will include: What are the natural sweeteners, which are available locally, which ones to use and what to avoid?  For our demo I (Lisa) will make a natural candy.

Phone: Jan’s number is 541-343-4404

Bring a Dish:
Please bring a Nourishing Traditions style dish and join us for some great food and great conversation! Families and guests are welcome. Please bring enough food to feed the size of your party.  For food ideas see our Notes on Potlucks page.
