Smiles in Schools Matter

Children have virtually no risk of dying from COVID (in my son’s age range he literally has a greater chance of being struck by lightning!).  Masks and distancing is damaging to children’s emotional health.  All adults can take the CV “vaccine” and wear masks if they want to.  There is no reason to make children suffer for the sake of the adults fear.  Freedom of choice, masks and vax should be OPTIONAL at all ages.

This comes to us from a local WAPF parent.  I’m including it here as a service to our community.  Please share.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for your interest in our grassroots gathering to help encourage our local school districts to unmask kids this fall! Extra thanks to those who attended our first meeting on Monday. Since then, Rick Dancer has reached out for a podcast appearance which we will be doing later this month (thank you Derek!). Also, West Linn/Wilsonville, a school district near Portland, voted unanimously to drop mask mandates for the fall and some other districts are implementing similar policies. Now for our districts! If you haven’t already, make your voice heard this week! Here are some of our area’s board members to contact. Time is of the essence.

It’s important that we have a kind, consistent, simple message and that they hear from as many of us as possible, as often as possible. Call, email, and/or send a letter and ask them to “unmask our children” or “make masks optional”. Remember to have your children communicate with the school board too. As well as everyone in your life who cares!

Be sure to add the school board meeting dates (above) to your calendar. We want to show up in full force!

Our next family friendly meeting is this Monday, July 19th, at 5:00 PM at Emerald Park (1400 Lake Dr, Eugene, OR 97404). Bring a chair or blanket in case we don’t get one of the structures.

We had around 25 community members show up at our first meeting and we hope to double our numbers this Monday. Let your friends and family know! Feel free to forward this email to any community member willing to speak up on behalf of our children. Help us spread the word and grow our movement! If you are in another area and want to work with us, reach out!

Thank you!!

July 26: DVD – Nourishing Our Children

Nourishing Our Children

by Sandrine Hann

Friday, July 26, 2019

DVD begins at 6:00 PM

Location:

Natural Grocers
201 Coburg Road
Eugene, OR 97401
www.naturalgrocers.com/store-location/eugene

Nourishing Our Children is a beautifully produced introduction to the work of Weston A. Price and the nutritional principles presented in Nourishing Traditions. Although it is aimed at parents who are still feeding young children, the information is important for everyone. You do not need to be a parent to come.

Sandrine Hann previously worked as a family therapist, art therapist, teacher, and as an educational therapist in private practice before she established Nourishing Our Children in 2005. Convinced that the children she worked with were well-fed but malnourished, Sandrine closed her private practice to devote herself to the cause of educating and inspiring parents to return to the whole, natural foods that have produced generation after generation of healthy children.

April 26: DVD – Vaccines, Autoimmunity & Changing Nature of Childhood Disease

Dr. Cowan is a popular speaker at Wise Traditions conferences and if you have never had the opportunity to hear him speak I highly recommend it. His talks defy easy description, combining medical knowledge and anthroposophy, with an entertaining story-telling style.  Come see for yourself!

by Thomas Cowan MDTom Cowan, MD

Recorded at the Wise Traditions 2018 Conference

Friday, April 26, 2019

DVD begins at 6:00 PM
(68 min.)

Location:

Natural Grocers
201 Coburg Road
Eugene, OR 97401

Description:

This presentation offers an overview of the healing nature of fever and childhood illnesses, and the role that intracellular water plays in the healing process. Dr Cowan addresses the rise in autoimmune disease and other chronic diseases, and how the immune system responds to vaccines versus wild disease. Then he looks at the tragic consequences of policies designed to thwart these natural processes.

One Doctor’s Surprising Answer to the Epidemic of Autoimmunity and Chronic Disease

Over the past fifty years, rates of autoimmunity and chronic disease have exploded: currently 1 in 2.5 American children has an allergy, 1 in 11 has asthma, 1 in 13 has severe food allergies, and 1 in 36 has autism. While some attribute this rise to increased awareness and diagnosis, Thomas Cowan, MD, argues for a direct causal relationship to a corresponding increase in the number of vaccines American children typically receive―approximately 70 vaccine doses by age eighteen. The goal of these vaccines is precisely what we’re now seeing in such abundance among our chronically ill children: the provocation of immune response.

Dr. Cowan looks at emerging evidence that certain childhood illnesses are actually protective of disease later in life; examines the role of fever, the gut, and cellular fluid in immune health; argues that vaccination is an ineffective (and harmful) attempt to shortcut a complex immune response; and asserts that the medical establishment has engaged in an authoritarian argument that robs parents of informed consent. His ultimate question, from the point of view of a doctor who has decades of experience treating countless children is: What are we really doing to children when we vaccinate them?

Tom Cowan, MD, is a holistic physician in private practice in San Francisco. He is the author of Human Heart, Cosmic Heart; Vaccines, Autoimmunity & Changing Nature of Childhood Disease; The Fourfold Path to Healing; and co-author of The Nourishing Traditions Book of Baby & Child Care.

Children’s Health Series:
In an effort to make our DVD showings available to parents, the Eugene Chapter has arranged with the Eugene Sudbury School to show this presentation at their facilities.  There will be toys and games in a separate room available for children to play in, while parents watch the DVD.  We will also have one or more adult with the children.

But you do not need to bring children or be a parent to attend!  This is an excellent introduction to the dietary causes and prevention of cavieties.  It is suitable for anyone who is concerned about tooth decay, and would be a great one to invite friends to come attend.  It has been very popular when we have shown it before.

Learn how to immediately reduce your cavity rate by at least 40%. Why we have tooth decay in modern civilization and what you can do about it. The important findings of Weston Price. A particular focus on types of foods as well as food preparation guidelines from beginner to intermediate on achieving tooth health with optimal nutrition.

Ramiel Nagel is the author of “Cure Tooth Decay,” and “Healing Our Children.” His health articles have been published internationally in Nexus magazine as well as in the Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients and in Wise Traditions. His background is in energy medicine and yoga. His writings focus increasing your ability to take responsibility for your health. “Cure Tooth Decay” teaches readers how to address the cause of cavities at its source: diet. We only got 7 responses to this poll last month, which is not enough information to make a decision on.  Please let us know!  Vote YES if you would like if you would like to see these DVDs or NO if you would not come. Thanks!

We have been considering adding a series of DVDs focused specifically on Children’s Health. Aug 16: Children’s Potluck Party!

(for children of all ages)

We have a special event planned for August. The theme for our potluck will be a child’s party!

Sunday, August 16, 2009
4:00 to 6:00

Location:
Skinner Butte Park & RiverPlay Playground

Map and directions at: TravelOregon

Feeding Children.
One of the most important findings of Dr. Price’s research involves showing the absolutely disastrous effects the modern diet has on growing children. Raising children has probably always been a difficult job, but keeping children well-nourished in our modern world has its own unique challenges.

As parents who follow the teachings of the WAP Foundation, we are constantly struggling to keep our children eating well. Restaurants, schools, childcare, birthday parties, holidays with family and other events all force us to either sacrifice our principals or risk having our children resent our control over what foods they can eat. This event is intended to provide all of the fun without the sacrifice.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to come, whether you have young children or not. This is an opportunity to support local parents and the next generation of healthy children (and try some tasty food yourself!). And I am sure that parents of young children will appreciate any good NT recipes or tips from parents who’s children are grown.

Bring Something to Share
Please bring a Nourishing Traditions-style nutrient-dense dish to feed growing children, and join us for some great food and fun! Families and guests are welcome. Please bring enough food to feed the size of your party, as well as your recipe on a 3×5 card or notepaper (Please include your name, and the source of the recipe. Be sure to give them to Lisa at the end of the evening).

To avoid the possibility of too many sweet treats, we ask that any desserts you bring be accompanied by a dish that features meat and/or vegetables with plenty of healthy fats. Thanks.

Please RSVP:
Because of the nature of this event, we need to have at least a rough idea of how many people to expect. Please RSVP  if you think you might be attending.

Our potluck meetings are regularly scheduled on the second Monday of each month. Our next potlucks will be September 14, and October 12 (mark your calendars now). We still need volunteers, so let us know if you are able to host an upcoming potluck.

New to all of this?
For those of you who are new to The Weston A. Price Foundation principals please see the Dietary Guidelines and Characteristics of Traditional Diets for a brief overview, and then get a copy of the book Nourishing Traditions for in-depth information and recipes.
