January 9: Potluck & Farm Presentation

Tuesday, January 9, 2018
6:30 PM

Great news!  We have a special presentation by local farmers scheduled for this potluck!  Nourished With Nature, Blake and Julia Bell will come tell us about their farm and discuss bone broth.

Location:

Natural Grocers
201 Coburg Road
Eugene, OR 97401
www.naturalgrocers.com/store-location/eugene

What to bring?

Anything from Nourishing Traditions, the Healthy 4 Life booklet or Recipes of the Week would be wonderful.  A simple homemade meal made from scratch using natural fats is always a great contribution.

Some examples include: a roasted chicken or other meat, meat and vegetable casserole, a dish made with soaked grains, soup using homemade bone broth, pastured egg quiche or other egg dish, organic salad with homemade dressing, steamed or roasted vegetables with butter or cream sauce, fermented vegetables, fresh or cooked fruit with raw whipped cream.

Bring enough to share with everyone and be sure to include some traditional fats!

We’d also like to encourage you to bring your own plate and utensils to help us reduce the use of disposables.  Thanks!

Note: We need a new potluck coordinator to help schedule potlucks in 2018!  Please consider joining us at the Steering Committee meeting to find out more.

January 21: Steering Committee Meeting

Sunday, January 21, 2018
2:00 PM

Natural Grocers
201 Coburg Road
Eugene, OR 97401

This meeting is for people who would like to contribute a little time and energy to helping  the Eugene Chapter run smoothly in 2018.  We will discuss what events the Chapter will undertake in the new year and who will make these things happen.

If you appreciate the work that the Weston A. Price Foundation does, please consider volunteering.  We have room for all types of skills and involvement level.  Just find a place where your own unique skills and interests can contribute to this wonderful community of traditional-foods enthusiasts.

The Eugene Chapter currently needs people to fill these roles:

  • Potluck Coordinator: selects date and speaker for potluck
  • Room Reservation: contacts Natural Grocers to reserve the space for our events.
  • Eugene Weekly: emails calendar at Eugene Weekly to give them information about our upcoming events.
  • Farm Outreach: Calls local farms and ranches for questionnaire.
  • Emotional Support: Sometimes I just need to bounce ideas off someone.
  • See Get Involved! for more ideas.

Let us know how you would like to be involved!
