Birth Stories from Eugene

What a cool idea! I hope you will participate.  This comes to us from a local member:

This isin’t specifically WAPF related… but I wondered if you could share…

I have an idea. I am super excited about it. I want to put together an e-book. ‘Natural Childbirth in Eugene”. Interested in contributing? It will be a benefit (haven’t decided for where yet…any ideas?) I loved reading others birth stories… how cool would it be to have a compilation of stories from your HOME TOWN? So… did you have a natural birth? Did you have a natural birth planned but that didn’t happen? Did you plan a medical birth but had a natural birth? I want to hear them all! Home, birth center, hospital, doesn’t matter. Want to contribute? Email me your birth story! jacquelynbyers@gmail.com

  • Hi Jacquelyn i love your idea/desire to collect & share birth stories of all kinds about how we birthed & bonded? with babies? infinite variety i’m sure. 1000s of such stories online & YouTube vids, amazing, touching, deep, opening, bliss potentials & dangers to avoid??

i also learn more from hearing mothers personal birth stories since 1980s when natural home-birthing became the most obvious (missed?) needs we have to start, & learning it decades later.

How can i help? i been collecting birth stories for years & began writing a book & play OBD ‘Our Baby Dialogs’ – exposing natural home birth & bonding, & normal medical delivery dangers. They were/are inspired by many birth stories, Rebirthing, Total Love bonding, midwives, babies & Michel Odent’s ‘WombEcology.org’, ‘The Vagina Monologs’, Monty Python birth scene & Lilly Tomlin’s insane tragicomedy, “Is There Intelligent Life in the Universe?”

Am also working on organizing a panel of midwives to speak at U.Or EcoLaw PIELConf in late Feb to inform us about birthing & protecting laboring mothers form MDs sterile control of birthing & arrest of midwives.
all comments, ideas & ?s welcome. Do you know local ‘Sacred Waters’ natural birthing midwifery training clinic run by Anita wonderful woman teaching gentle midwifery skills.

  • I LOVE your suggestion to have a birth sharing group meeting, can be very inspiring likes some hot websites online of mothers telling birth stories, like “Be Bold my/your body Rocks” is a stage play of mothers telling/reading their honest birth stories, inspiring other mothers, sorta like ‘Vagina monologs’. So there’s 1000 of groups of mothers telling birth stories now.
    lets do it,
